Parents: Today your child took home a color booklet we have been working on for the month of September. Please take some time and have your child “touch-read” each word (pointing to each word) . They have worked hard and now know how to read the following color words/sight words: red, yellow, blue, green, orange, pink, purple, brown, gray, black, white——I, a, and, the, see. Check to see if your child can read these words!
These are due on Oct 6. I am still awaiting kits for: Hannah, Emilian, Cormac, and Caleb. Let me know, please.
For the month of September we were doing classroom pickup at the end of the day. For October and on, I will be dismissing the children to the playground at the time of the ending school day bell (3:45p.m.) You may pick up your child from the playground. (There will be duty personnel on the playground until 3 pm.)
Here are some pictures of our Quiet Reading time. After lunch, we take some time to rest and quietly enjoy reading some books.
We will be learning Psalm 23: 1-4. “The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not be in want. (vs.1) He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, (vs.2) he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. (vs.3) Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff they comfort me. (vs.4)
In addition to class practise, extra home practise would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your support.
Reading charts for September (see attachment to my first week of school newsletter) can be submitted for a prize from the prize box. I will send October’s Reading Chart home this week.
