This week we finish up our Science Unit on Desert Habitat.  Here is a picture of our Friday art:

Here are the new phonograms we will be learning this week (refer to the multi-letter phonogram practise book that your child received earlier this school year)  ti (sound as in “nation“), ci (sound as in “facial“) si (two sounds–as in session and also as in vision)

I will introduce the words on Monday, January 30th and test them on Friday, February 3rd.  Here are the words:  ring, ice, sea, robe, wash, little, ask, bread, hair, day

In our daily practise of Spelling words at school, we are also practising how to use the word in a proper sentence (oral).  Each week (Friday) I will dictate a sentence using words that we have learned so far this year in Spelling and sight words we have learned.  Students will make their best attempt to print the words that we have learned.  Please take a look on the back of today’s Spelling test to see how your child is able to recall words learned and print the sentence with proper spaces/letter formation/punctuation.

Today we did another winter art project in one of our Friday afternoon stations of learning,

Students have been doing such a great job of memorizing!  Thank you parents for your support.  We have hand actions to go along with our memory verses and this has been a great help in learning.  We continue to add a small segment of the passage as indicated in the bold letters.
