From the music teacher:

Wednesday Dec. 15 is Christmas Sweater Day at Highroad.  This is perfect for our annual Christmas Concert performance.  Many students have asked, “But what if I don’t have a Christmas sweater?”.  Good question.  Here are the options for the Christmas concert:

  1. a long-sleeved Christmas themed Tshirt, sweatshirt or sweater
  2. a long-sleeved plain T-shirt, sweatshirt or sweater
  3. a long-sleeved Tshirt, sweatshirt or sweater turned inside out, if there is a design that doesn’t fit our Christmas theme.

Any choice of jeans or dark pants/skirts are preferable to complete the students’ ensemble.

NOTE: we hope that every student has one of these options, as we would like to avoid having one or two students stand out from the class because they are wearing their uniform for this concert.

Salvation Army Food Drive – begins Wednesday, December 1st

  • We are setting a school goal of $6000 by December 15th
  • if we reach our goal, we will have an Animal Dress Up day when we return after Christmas break
  • We are inviting students and families to DONATE money to the food drive as the Salvation Army has more buying power than we do. All donations go to the SCHOOL OFFICE.

Right now, the Salvation Army can use all the money they can get as they are taking the lead on meal efforts for flood relief, providing extra supplies for those affected by this current situation, and then have a list of those already on the list for hampers and other needs this holiday.

Just a quick reminder that tomorrow (Wednesday) is Jersey Day.  Students may wear a sport jersey (not Highroad clothes and not play clothes) with casual pants.  If they do not have a Jersey, students should wear regular uniform.

Parent/Teacher Conferences Update

Posted by free2008 | Posted in Uncategorized | Posted on November 23, 2021

I sent out a blog previously regarding Parent Teacher Conferences on Friday.  There was a sign up link whereby you could sign up for in-person or on-line interviews.  Due to the mandate from the Deputy Minister to minimize traffic on the roads and unnecessary fuel consumption, we have decided to go with ON-LINE INTERVIEWS ONLY.  If you had signed up for in person, you will see that I changed it to on-line meeting.  If that time slot does not work for you, please feel free to choose another available time slot.

For those who have not signed up already, please do so—it would be great to have a conversation with you about the progress your child is making.
