*Permission slips for skating will be sent home soon. Parent help with tying skates would be much appreciated!

On November 15th we will be having Parent/Teacher interviews from 10:30-5:30pm. School will not be in session. I would love to meet with each family. If you click on the link, it will take you to a sign up sheet. If you are not able to meet with me on that day, I will be glad to do an after school interview at your convenience.  Please let me know via e-mail.

Folkerts Parent Teacher Interviews 

On November 6th, we will be having a Philippines fundraiser for our High School missions team. They will be serving a hot lunch and we will be having a $2 pay to wear casual day. The deadline for ordering hot lunch is October 30th on our Munch a Lunch app.

Folkerts Parent Teacher Interviews 

Today I sent home a Pumpkin booklet for your child to read to you!  We have read together several times and they are ready to read it to you.  Happy reading!  I am so proud of the progress they have made!

Parents:  If your child is going to Learning Assistance they have a baggie of daily learning initiatives.  Please work with your child to comply with these tasks that will help them on the road to reading.

Other students  just  today received the classroom home reading program initiative (in their planner–a yellow info sheet, a reading book, a purple log sheet)  Parents, please check your child’s planner to see how you can partner along to help your child on their road to reading!

This week we add 5 more multi-letter phonograms to sound out and learn to help our road to reading. (refer to pg 3 in Multi-letter Phonogram booklet )  Here  they are:  oy, oi, ch, ow, ou.  These are in addition to the 5  multi-letter phonograms we have been working on (refer to pg 1 in Multi-letter booklet)  sh, th, oo, ee, er.  (NOTE: Back side of the page will tell you the sounds these multi-phonograms make)  If you have any questions, please send me an email and I can arrange to meet with you to explain the sounds , and how the booklet works.

This week we begin learning weekly Spelling words.  I will introduce the words today, (Mon. Oct.23) and testing will be on Friday, Oct. 27.  Here are the words your child will need to know how to spell independently:  a, am, and, as, at  Please take time to practise these words at home.
