Yes, we finally got there!

Our Christmas concert was a little different this year, but we watched it together as a class this morning, and it was so fabulous! I hope you will able to watch it online and see the enjoyment it gave us all!

Thank you for your support in our annual food drive. We reached our goal as a school, and will have a PJ day to celebrate that in our first week back to school.

I also want to thank everyone for all the encouragement through  the gifts and cards. I have been blessed 🙂

I pray that  you will all have a well deserved Christmas break, and that you will be able to enjoy this Christmas season, despite the fact that it may be a little different this year. Rest and relax, and enjoy your families.

Merry Christmas, see you next year!

Dates to Remember:

Tues., December 8– Chapel

Fri., December 11– Pro-D day (no school)

Spelling:

No more spelling until after Christmas break.

Bible Memory:

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.  Isaiah 9:6

Reminders and Other Information:

  • Home Reading – please continue your home reading every night and return your book folder when you have completed 5 readings.
  • Remember to complete your child’s health check every day
  • Homework – when your child misses school, I will be sending them home the next school attending day with a homework folder that has some of the work that they need to catching up on from the days they have missed.  Thank you for your support.
  • Food drive continues until December 16th – Thank you for your contributions so far!  Let’s keep it up so we can meet our school goal and bless others!
  • Christmas Fun:  Our classroom bulletin board and hallway bulletin board has been decorated with Christmas crafts we have colored and made, as well as other decorations around the room.  This week we began our Social Studies unit on Christmas around the world.  We got our (pretend) passports ready and tickets, and took an imaginary trip on the Polar Express train to North America, where we looked at customs and traditions of Christmas in U.S/Canada and then travelled to Mexico to learn about how Christmas is celebrated there.  Ask your child about what they have learned!  Next destination:  South America (Brazil) and Europe (Germany)  It has been great to learn and appreciate other cultures!
  • On Thursday, Dec. 17 afternoon we will be watching a Christmas movie and I am wondering if there are parents who would be willing to bring some pre-packaged treats for us. That would be great and much appreciated.  Please let me know via email or a note in your child’s planner. (no peanut treats, please)
